The leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa tree are used as Kratom. which is native to Southeast Asia and traditionally used in Thailand and Malaysia. Kratom contains indole alkaloids like mitragynine and analogs that bind to opioid receptors. The leaves are stimulating like coca in low doses and depressant and psychoactive like opioids in high doses.
